Food Safety Course Level 1 (REFRESHER)

Course Aim

To refresh food handlers with the knowledge and
application skills in Food Safety Course Level 1 and
can be able to apply them in their workplace.

Practising good personal hygiene

Handling food safely

Using safe ingredients

Storing food safely

Maintaining cleanliness of utensils, equipment and service/storage areas

Target Audience

Existing food handlers (i.e. any individual who prepares food and beverage product in SFA-licensed eating establishments)

Entry Requirements

Candidate MUST have verifiable evidence of having completed a Food Hygiene course in the past 5 years to be eligible for Refresher course.

Teacher to Student Ratio

To ensure that all students have sufficient time to learn and practice their skills, we have allocated 1 teacher per 20 students maximum. (1:20)

Duration and Language Medium

The duration of this course will be held for 4.5 Hours (9.30am – 2.00pm). Comprises of 3 hours training and 1.5 hours assessment.

Lessons will be conducted in English/Mandarin.

Delivery Method and Assessment

Training delivery is a combination of lectures, videos and discussion. At the end of the course, participants will be required to undergo an assessment which comprises practical performance (PP), multiple choice questioning (MCQ), and written assessment (WA).

Certification

Participants who are certify competent will be awarded a Statement of Attainment (SOA) from SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG).
